The Technical Adviser of Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Zamfara United Fc of Gusau, Coach Alhassan Mohammed has said that Niger Tornadoes Fc of Minna were good team and deserved promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the  end of the season.

Coach Alhassan whose team was beaten 2-0 by the Minna based team in the match day 12 fixture of the NNL 2021 decided on Saturday, at the late Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium, Minna.

He said Niger Tornadoes were better than his team in the game that was why they won the match, particularly in the first half of the match, but that the second half was balanced after he made some substitutions.

The Technical Adviser added that he was not expecting a different result from the game, as they were in Minna to just honour the match because they knew Tornadoes will carry the day no matter how hard they tried because they were a better team than them.

He also appreciated the officiating and commended the officiating officials, saying “the referee surprised me, the first half was not too bad and in the second half the referee open the game. So the game was okay there is no problem, and the goals were okay”.

Coach Alhassan who said he had been playing Tornadoes since 80s added that the team is a good team and in NNL the club is a giant Elephant and they pay their players very well, so they deserves promotion.

“Tornadoes is a good side, they have a government who is supporting them very well and I congratulate them for getting promotion because nobody will stop them,” the Coach concludes.

Similarly, the Chief Coach of Niger Tornadoes, Umar Faruq Master said their tactical approach to every game, particularly the home matches was to win the game within the first 45 minutes and that was what they did in the match.

He admitted that the second half of the match was not too good for his side after making some substitutions, but that some games were like that a times as far as football is concern, saying some substitutions impacts on your team positively or negatively sometimes in football.

Coach Faruq Master said the most important thing was that they were able to secure their victory in the very first half of the match, and on their next game against Yobe Dessert in Damaturu, he said they will approach the game with full motivation of their last away point at Lokoja and the home win against Zamfara United, promising that they would not come out of the game empty handed.

Niger Tornadoes new acquisition, Collins Atule got the opener for the Minna based team hwen he tapped in a beautifully laid pass from Debo Fashanu in the 11th minute of the game, while Shamsudeen Hashim took advantage of a nodded pass from Collins Atule and fired in the security goal from outside the box for the Ikon Allah Boys in the 21st minute of the game.

Niger Tornadoes maintained lead of the NNL group A2 table with 24 points from 12 matches, followed by DMD Fc of Maiduguri and Yobe Desert with 19 points each from same number of matches played. Tornadoes will play as guest to the Desert Warriors in match day 13 fixture next weekend.
