FIRE ENGINEAs activities to celebrate the end of this year’s Ramadan reached a crescendo, residents of Niger State have been enjoined to be cautious and vigilant against any fire outbreak.

The warning was given by the state Controller of Fire Service, Alhaji Salihu Bello Gbedako, in a statement signed by the Senior Fire Prevention Officer, Abdullahi Ibrahim Khalil.

The controller advised residents not to leave their cooking unattended and leave matches or lighter where children can have access to them, adding that all electrical appliances must be switched off during power outages.

He cautioned them not to use mobile phone while cooking or keep inflammable items close to fire.

The statement further explained that appropriate and serviceable fire extinguishers be installed in vehicles, commercial centres, offices and homes for quick fire interventions.

The statement congratulates Muslims on successful completion of Ramadan.
