FATI TASALLAHBy Leah Thomas           Niger State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has flagged off the 2021 distribution of food items to social institutions in the state.

In her keynote address at the old Orphanage Home, wife of Niger State Governor, Dr. Amina Abubakar Bello stated that, it is a joyful moment for families, communities and the nation at large to recognize the position of the less privileged because they serve as a pointer in the society as they need attention, care, love and support.

She said, there is no doubt that society owes the less privileged the best it could to put a smile on their faces, calling on all and sundry particularly the wealthy to always extend their hands to reach out to these set of people in the society because government cannot do it alone.

The commissioner, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Fati Tasalla Ibrahim said, the Ministry has been given the mandate and responsibility for the welfare of every individual in the society especially the vulnerable to ensure that they are adequately supported and cared for.

The commissioner thanked the Governor of Niger State for his commitment and taking care of the less privilege and putting smiles on their faces.

In her vote of thanks, the permanent secretary of the ministry, Kaltum Rufa’i Dauda, represented by Mustapha Yunusa, appreciated the wife of the governor for her commitment towards the less privileged and challenged the well-meaning individuals to assist them and also change our perceptive towards them.

Responding on behalf of the recipients, Malam Usman Nagoggo, expressed appreciation to God and staff of the ministry pronouncing God’s blessings upon them.

Amongst the items distributed are maize, millet, garri, sugar, palm oil, vegetable oil, detergent and soap.
