Eight witnesses have so far testified before the Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik Judicial Commission of Inquiry investigating the financial mismanagement allegations brought against the suspended chairman of Shiroro Local Government Council, Alh. Suleiman Dauda Chukuba over the petition filed against the chairman.

The local government councilors had on November 29, 2020 filed a petition against the suspended chairman over allegations of mismanagement of tenement rate worth N50milion among other allegations which led to the suspension of the chairman.

Following the petition against him, the councilors led by the house leader, Umar Abubakar demanded for a commission of inquiry to be constituted by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello to investigate the allegations contained in their petition with a view to taking appropriate measures.

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, as a result of the weight of the petition, constituted a three- man judicial commission of inquiry headed by Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik and to submit its findings within one month. The Commission has since commenced sitting in Minna.

Among those that appeared for testimony before the Commission included the vice chairman of the council, Hon. Isyaku Bawa, legislative leader,Yusuf Aliyu, director of finance and supply of the council, Haruna Musa Manta, Director of works in the local goverment, Mr Albert Laura and  Awaisu Wana as a stakeholder in Shiroro  local goverment.

The suspended council chairman and some of the contractors handling some projects in the local government area would be expected to testify before the commission at the adjourned sitting.
