The chairman Board of Trustees (BOT) of  Africa Youth  Empowerment in Agriculture and Industrial Development( AYEIAD), Mal. Musa Salihu Bawa Bosso, said that his decision for donating medical supplement and other items valued over N33 million to the state government Task force on Covid-19 recently was in view of government calls on individuals, private organizations and corporate bodies  in the state to  support  in the fight against the pandemic.

Mal. Bawa Bosso stated this while speaking in an exclusive interview with Newsline in his office in Bosso on Monday.

   The BoT Chairman of the Minna based Non-Governmental, a non-profit making organization who earlier described corona virus outbreak in the state as worrisome and a challenge to all since it is a matter of lives said he was touched, hence the need by his NGO to step in and contribute his own quota as a way to complement government effort with the donations of some items that will help in fighting the ravaging pandemic in the state,

 He listed some of the items to include 24 units of water dispensing buckets, 1,100 face masks, 24 units of waste collectors,100 bottles of liquid soap, multi vitamin for 6,000 beneficiaries, vitamin  A,100 IUD for 40,500 people ,Vitamin A 200 I u for 40,500 beneficiaries.

Other items donated according to him were 400 mg of Chewing Albendazole for 81,000 beneficiaries, nutritional items for pre-natal mothers to boost their immune system.

 The chairman while speaking on his organisation for their arrangement told Newsline that plans were in the pipeline to extend similar gesture to  some communities in five catchment areas of the state with the provisions of  palliative  items in addition to those already donated to the state Task Force on Covid-19.

  According to him, communities reach out to include Rafin Gora, Kontagora, Babanrami, Mashegu, Mokwa, and Jikpan communities, Bosso and  Duste -kura, Keterengwari in Chanchaga Local Government area of the state.

Mal. Musa disclosed that the decision by his NGO to reach out to these communities in the state was aimed at supporting the people in these areas towards containing the pandemic since the government alone cannot reach out to every community in the state to share certain items that can help them in the ongoing fight against the pandemic.
