Niger State House of Assembly has commended the Management of the state Pension Board led by the Director General, Mal. Usman Tinau Mohammed, for the satisfactory discharge of their statutory functions and their efforts in bringing sanity to the protracted pension problems in the state in the last four years.

The commendation was made by the Chairman on Labour and Productivity, Hon. Malik Madaki, Member Representing Bosso Constituency, when he received the Director General and his management team who were in the House on a courtesy visit to brief the committee on the achievements, problems and road map for the Board, since the Board was appointed in 2016 and to further seek for enhanced collaboration and partnership with the legislature.

Mal. Tinau also use the opportunity to inform the committee that the management of the Board inherited over twenty billion Naira as pension liability when it came on Board in 2016 and has now appreciably reduced by the present administration with active collaboration and support of the state legislature through the amendment of the Pension law by the Assembly.

The Director General further appealed to all stakeholders especially at the local government and state level to ensure they do the needful in submitting relevant documents for proper documentation to ease quick processing of records for payment of benefits to pensioners.
