The Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole has called on the Progressive Governors to be pacesetters in the implementation of the N30, 000 minimum wage.

Oshiomhole made the call while delivering his remark at 3rd Federal Government -Progressive Governors Forum (FG-PGF) parley on policy synergy held in Jos, Plateau State, Monday.

He said that the APC states should be the first to pay the minimum wage and the adjustment made.

“As Progressive Governors, let us be the first to the pay not only the new national minimum wage but the consequential adjustment”, he said.

He was pleased that some of the Progressive Governors have already taken proactive steps toward the implementation of the new national minimum wage.

According to him, the Progressive Governors should go ahead and commence payment so that as others were struggling to accept payment or not it would be said that they have commenced payments.

He said that the border closure by the Federal Government should be publicly identified and commended by Nigerians.

The chairman added that the borders should remain closed until the country’s neighbours start doing things the right way by abiding with the protocols and not seeing Nigeria as a dumping ground for smuggled goods.

He said that President Muhammadu Buhari should be commended for not showing any difference to the governors irrespective of their political parties, adding that he has demonstrated to be a truly progressive president.
