Key stakeholders in the state information sector have been assured of support and co-operation of the 9th Assembly in the discharge of their statutory functions, in order to achieve the vision and mission of the present administration in the state.

Chairman of the Niger State House of Assembly Committee on Information and Strategy, Hon. Musa Idris Vatsa, Member representing Lapai Constituency disclosed this when the House Committee received the new Commissioner for Information, Alh. Mohammed Sani Idris, who was accompanied by the management staff of the ministry and other Heads of Agencies for an interface with the legislators.

The committee assured the commissioner that everything humanly possible will be done especially in the area of budgetary allocation to cater for the transformation of the facilities of the state-owned media organizations in line with the desired standard expected to discharge their mandate.

Earlier in his remark, the commissioner lamented the poor condition of the state media outfit, especially the AM Transmission Station in Chanchaga, which calls for urgent attention to rectify and ensure its resumption of transmission.

He then appealed to the committee to intervene towards finding lasting solution to the lingering problems bedevilling the media organs of the state in order to ensure they are restored to discharge their statutory functions.
