New Commissioner for Ministry of Investment, Commerce and Industry, Dr. Mustapha Jibril has assumed duty with a call on the staff of the ministry to extend their hands of fellowship to enable him succeed in his new assignment.

Dr. Jibril who was the immediate past commissioner for Health and Hospital Services made the plea while taking over the working documents of the ministry from the permanent secretary, Alh. Uthman Umar Usman recently in his office.

The commissioner earlier thanked the governor of Niger State, Alh. Abubakar Sani Bello, for finding him worthy to choose him to be part of his cabinet however, promised to discharge his duties with the fear of Almighty Allah and with trust in all his undertaking in the ministry.

Dr. Mustapha Jibril while describing his new posting to the ministry as a new environment and challenging disclosed that he is going to enforce discipline among the staff in order for him to actualize the mandate of the ministry which is saddled with investment-drive to boost the economy status of the state through commerce and trade.

According to him, he will build upon what he met as well as initiate new strategies where he solicited for a team work among the staff of the ministry as to achieve an improved revenue generation of the state.

Speaking earlier, the permanent secretary of the ministry, Alh. Uthman Umar Usman while presenting the handover documents to the new commissioner called on him to be guided with the rules of the ministry’s mandate which he described as a critical policy sector organization that is responsible for all investments and economic drive of the government noting that all commercial activities of the state government depended on the ministry.

Alh. Uthman while reiterating the resolve of the ministry to co-operate and support the commissioner to ensure that he succeeds in his new assignment however, further advised him not to allow his political associate, friends and relatives to distract his attention while carrying out the mandate of the ministry which does not in any way involved in signing MoU for award of contract of any kind and wish him well in his new task.
