Niger State Commissioner for Transport, Hajiya Ramatu Mohammed Yar’aduwa has said that she will operate an open door policy.

The commissioner stated this while taking over the mantle of leadership at the state ministry of transport, Tuesday; she said that she is open to all staff of the ministry.

“You already know my style of work; I am for all of you. I will run an open door policy as usual and anyone who has something to offer to move the ministry forward should feel free to come to me,” she stated.

The commissioner also informed the staff of the ministry that the governor had given all the commissioners 15 months to effect changes in their respective ministries and asked the staff of the ministry to put that at the back of their minds because she cannot do that alone.

“His Excellency, Alh. Abubakar Sani Bello gave us 15 month to record some achievements in our ministries when he inaugurated us. I want everyone to put it at the back of his mind, I can’t do it alone, I need your support to do that,” she solicited.

She also noted that they have no time on their side and asked the staff of the ministry to get down to work immediately and on a high speed.

“If we must achieve something meaningful, we would not crawl nor walk but we must run at a high speed, you know we have no time on our side,” said the commissioner.

Earlier in his remarks, the permanent secretary of the ministry, Abdullahi Usman Imam said the commissioner was a familiar face in the ministry being her last place of commissionership, saying the entire staff of the ministry were happy to welcome her back.

He observed that the second tenure of the present administration was a time to consolidate on the achievements already recorded and that is what they intend to do in the ministry.

The permanent secretary further informed the commissioner that the handing over note she left behind was the same thing he was presenting to her although with little addition of some of the things the ministry had done within the last five months.
