Ten out of the total of 3,291pilgrims from Niger State did not perform the 2019 Hajj.
This was disclosed by the Acting Executive Secretary of the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board in an exclusive interview with Newsline in Muna pilgrims tent today.
Alh. Makun said that all the affected pilgrims have already perfected their payments and visas were already processed and transmitted to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) in Abuja.
Those affected included four females who were discovered to be pregnant, while the remaining six were males. However, three out of the six were discovered to have suffered severe stroke, while the remaining were treated for some undisclosed ailments.
In another development, the executive secretary has revealed that the Niger State Governor, Alh. Abubakar Sani Bello, who is currently in Saudi Arabia with state pilgrims performing Hajj, has in his magnanimity granted financial assistance to the over 3, 291pilgrims who are currently in Makkah after the completion of their Hajj rites.
Each of the pilgrims according to the ES, will receive a bonus of 200 Saudi Riyals in order to cushion the negative effect of their stay in Makkah before their airlift home from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Makun Lapai used the forum to advise all pilgrims to stay from unnecessary expenditure that might lead them to carrying excessive luggage.
