The speaker of Niger state House of Assembly, Hon. Abdullahi Bawa Wuse has said money approved in the budget should be released to MDAs to enable them achieve their mandate.
The speaker was bewildered and confounded that important institution like the planning commission could not access funds to carry out its mandate, saying something must be done to address the issue.

He was speaking when management of the Niger state planning commission led by the permanent secretary, Mal. Musa Dalau paid him a courtesy visit at the Assembly complex.

Hon Bawa Wuse said although there was a limit to what the lawmakers can do, he however assured that whatever can be done in the interest of the state would be done.

The permanent secretary, Mal. Musa Dalau told the speaker that the non release of funds to approved heads in the budget was hampering the activities of MDAs.

The commission was undertaking a consultation tour to the three zones of the state to engage stakeholders on the 2020 budget.

He said the cooperation of the leadership of the house to the activities of the commission was most needed now that the state is facing challenges in terms of revenue inflows due to fiscal reforms that are taking place.

He congratulated the speaker and leadership of the house for thier victory and hoped that the synergy between them would birth a new leaf of life for the state.
