Niger State House of Assembly

Hon Abdullahi Bawa Wuse has emerged speaker of the Niger state House of Assembly.

Wuse who represented Tafa constituency was nominated by immediate past speaker, Hon Ahmed Marafa Guni.

A first time member of the house, Hon Bawa Wuse was born in 1963 in Sabon Wuse and is a barrister at law.

He was a former chairman of Tafa local government and also a former commissioner in the administration of former governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu.

A former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bawa Wuse decamped to the ruling APC and contested under its platform.

In the same vein, member representing Bida I, Hon Bako Kassim Alfa has been elected deputy speaker.

Hon. Kassim Alfa is a second term member who was born in 1960. He was the education committee chairman of the last house.

Both speaker and deputy were sworn in by the Clerk of the assembly, Abdullahi Mohammed Kagara. END
