Emir of Kagara in Rafi Local Government of Niger State, Alh. Salihu Tanko, has appealed to the people of his domain to embrace peace and harmony in the area in order to attract development.
The emir made the appeal at his palace in Kagara during the just concluded Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebration, adding that, “progress and development cannot be gotten in an environment where peace and harmony is absent, as peace brings love and understanding,

“Although there are numerous security challenges affecting the emirate and the state ranging from kidnappings, armed robbery and banditry, among others.”

Alh. Tanko urged all and sundry to be extra vigilant and take measures that will address these issues.

Earlier in his remark, the District Head of Kagara, Alh. Muhammed Salihu Tanko, appealed to both federal and state government to assist the farmers in Rafi Local Government by providing them with sufficient assorted fertilizer and other farm implements at subsidized rate.

He said, “the entire state depends on agriculture, and President Buhari’s government has pledged to improve the agricultural sector, therefore, a privilege to farmers to benefit from federal government’s initiatives.

The District Head called on the present APC government to enhance the education sector which is key to development of any society, and presently requires much attention from the government. He said, “Government should give the masses the much needed support through providing funds and basic facilities to students, pupils, parents, teachers, and all stakeholders.”

This he said, will bring about conducive learning environment to both the students, pupils, and improve teachers towards every effort to attain the required result for development.

In another development, the Chairman of Association of Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Yahaya Adamu, has called on the Niger State government to assist the members of the association by empowering them with motorcycle loans to enable members benefit from Traders-Moni programme launched by the federal government.

He added that, various efforts have been made by the leadership of the ACOMORAN in Rafi Local Government to benefit from the local government loan programme, but all the efforts were in vain, “that is why we are hoping to see positive change at the Next Level of APC government in the state.”
