Peoples Democratic Movement, PDM, Niger State chapter have dissociated itself from the political gimmick of one Abubakar Abdullahi, who claimed to be a gubernatorial candidate of the party.
This was contained in a statement signed by the state chairman and secretary of the party, comrades Musa Adamu Nasko and Emmanuel Baba Yisa, and made available to Newsline.
The statement further stated that for the avoidance of doubt, and to put the records straight, the Peoples Democratic Party PDM, has no gubernatorial candidate in Niger State.
The statement further added that the national headquarters of the party, identified with the candidature of the then presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, President Muhammadu Buhari; pointing out that in like manner, Niger state chapter of the party also aligned with the candidature of the APC Gubernatorial candidate, Alh. Abubakar Sani Bello.
It is on record that on 18th January, 2019, the entire leadership of Niger state chapter of the party paid solidarity visit to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello campaign organisation.

“The party has therefore authorized its lawyers to enter a notice of discontinuance at the tribunal. It has equally informed its national headquarters on the activities of the said complainant.”
“Considering the peaceful conduct of 2019 general elections in Niger state which has been acknowledged by stakeholders, it is rather unfortunate that an individual is bent on creating political crisis where there is none.”

“The party is drawing the attention of all security agencies and the peace loving Nigerlites and Nigerians as a whole to beware of this unholy activity of Abubakar Abdullahi who is a known troubled maker.” The statement concluded.

The party further advised Abubakar Abdullahi, that political gimmickry has no place in PDM.
