Chanchaga LG Caretaker Chairman, Alhaji Danjuma Yusuf Ma’aji

Projects worth over N20.5 million has been embarked upon by the present leadership of Chanchaga Local Government Council of Niger State.

The projects include renovation of the council conference hall, construction and rehabilitation of district heads offices in Kwangila, Makera and Limawa wards, as well as repairs of central air conditioners of the Minna Central Mosque.

This was disclosed by the Caretaker Chairman of the council, Alhaji Danjuma Yusuf Ma’aji in a press statement issued and copy made available to Newsline on Sunday. The statement further said that medical and financial supports were equally given to indigenes and vulnerable groups of Chanchaga LGA, as well as support to various communal efforts amounting to N5m; all these among others were executed by the council leadership.

In a related development, the council has approved the purchase of 10 motorcycles to be distributed to all the departments within the council in order to ease their transportation problem in the discharge of their duties.

The council chairman further disclosed that armoured cable and transformer has been purchased for Kuta Road community that have been suffering lack of power supply for the past one year. He also added that the council has effected the repairs of some water pipes in some of the wards across the LGA.

Equally, cash donation of N200, 000 was made to Sauka-Kahuta community to support them in the purchase of their community transformer and armoured cable which was alleged to have been vandalized and similar gesture was also extended to residents of Abdulsalam and Angwan Kaje.

The council caretaker chairman added that in order to encourage communal efforts, Fadikpe community in the council was also supported with an undisclosed amount of money towards the renovation of their community drainage system to avoid possible outbreak of cholera during raining season.

As part of the council’s commitment to boost manpower, some staff of the local government were given some financial support to pursue their education and encourage other staff to improve their knowledge by furthering their education; adding that the council has given youth and women empowerment the needed attention.

Ma’aji further disclosed that substantial amount was given to some youths and women to start their small scale businesses for self reliance.
