Wife of Niger State Governor, Dr. Amina Abubakar Bello

As part of the events to mark the 2019 New Year celebration, the Niger State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has presented food items and detergents to social institutions in the state at Government Orphanage home Minna.

In her keynote address, the Wife of Niger State governor, Dr. Amina Abubakar Bello represented by DG Government Enterprises and Empowerment Programme, Hajiya Hassana Adamu stated that there is no doubt that society owes the less privileged the best it can give to put smiles on their faces.

Dr. Amina congratulates the inmates in the various social institutions in the state and Nigeria in general saying that it is a joyful moment to recognize the position of the less privileged in the society because they serve as a pointer to the society so they need our attention, care and support.

She called on all and sundry particularly the wealthy ones to always extend their hands to the needy in the society because government cannot do it alone.

In her remarks, the Commissioner, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Barr. Amina Musa Gua’r explained that the ministry has the mandate and responsibility to carter for the welfare of every individual in the society especially the vulnerable groups and has been working hard to ensure that the less privileged are adequately supported, protected and cared for.

She appreciated the governor of Niger State, Dr. Abubakar Sani Bello for his commitment in taking care of the less privileged and putting smiles on their faces.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, TPL Kaltum Dauda Rufai thanked the Government for its support, the Commissioner for her effort in ensuring the success of the event and all the Directors and staff of the Ministry for their hardwork. She urged the beneficiaries to use the items with a thankful heart.

Earlier, the Ministry visited the Neo-Natal ward of the general hospital Minna to celebrate with babies of the year. The first baby, a female was delivered by 7.24am to the family of Mr&Mrs Yusuf Musa from Kateren Gwari in Minna, while the second baby male, was delivered by 8.06am to the family of Mr&Mrs John Wasdon from Shiroro Local Government of Niger State.

Gifts items was presented to them by the Wife of the Governor who was represented by Hajiya Hassana Adamu. Patients in other children and female wards in the hospital equally received gift items.

Both mothers, Salamatu Yusuf and Grace John appreciated the Wife of the governor and the Ministry of Women Affairs for the kind gesture extended to them.

Niger State ministry of wemen Affairs and social Development has empowered widows, cooperative group and petty traders with found in minna recently.

In her address, the wife of the Governor, Doctor. Amina Sani Bello represented by the DG.government enterprises and empowrement programme,Hajiya Hassan Adamu Stated that the event for the empowerment of 200 wemen, widows,the vulnerable  as well as the less priviledge will go down to history.

She added that, she is optimistic without any iota of doubt or contradiction that the econmy of Niger State will certainly be increased in a short time if the beneficiaries go into the soceity and compete favourable with other traders and artisans with the intention of turning around positively the Gross Domestics Product(GDP) of the State.

Dr. Amina challenged them to be steadfast and meticulous towards creating jobs for teeeming youths especially the youmg female graduates roaming the street and could easily be lured into drugs and other social vices.

“I implore you not to see yourselves as vulnerable anymore as  this government is deeply concerned about women and their productivity to the State, thus be judicious with the little resources you have recieved and make ends meet from it” She said.

Speaking earlier,the Commissioner, ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Barr. Amina Musa Gua’rappreciated the wife of the Niger State Governor for her humble resolve to identify with women in all matters that concern them and their well being.

The commissioner emphasized that this gesture would no doubt enhance the socia-economy activities of the state due to the effort of the Ministry and government in graduating skills acquisition beneficiaries in recent time and will continue in the empowerment of petty traders and the disables.

Member house committee on women affairs, Hajiya Binta Maman said this empoerment is coming at the time it is most needed, the government has taken it upon itself to reach out to women who cannnot help themselves.

She employed women to take the kind gesture with passion and make it useful to them and those around them by so doing doing it will add value to their lives.

Vote of thanks by the Permenant Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, TPL Kaltum Dauda Rufai, she appreciated the Government of Niger State for their tireless efforts to reach out to the needy and urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds.

The representative of the beneficiaries, Mrs Pat Jibril and Mary Demain unbehalf of the widows and petty traders and cooperative groups exprresed gratitudes to the government of Niger State for alliviating their suffering n  in the face of their challenges they are facing, they pray for the growth and betterment of the state.
