Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna has unveiled Coach Bernard Ogbe as the new Technical Adviser of the club for the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League season (NPFL).
 Speaking during the unveiling ceremony at the conference room of Niger Tornadoes Secretariat, Minna, the Permanent Secretary of the Niger State Ministry of Sports Development, Dr. Mohammed Gana Yinti revealed that the move was aimed at improving the club’s performance this season.
He urged Coach Ogbe to put in his best towards improving the team, saying that government would do everything possible to support the management of the club. 
“We hope that the new coach will bring back our lost glory in football,” he said.
Earlier, the Chairman of the club, Alh. Abubakar Mustapha Gawu said the technical adviser signed a one year contract with the club, adding that the technical adviser would be entitled to official car, a resident and other allowances.
Also, Coach Ogbe said that he will work hard to improve the performance of the club in the coming season.
“I believe I am called upon because of my antecedents with this club. I have come to improve the standard of play in the team with new vigour.” he added.
While appreciating the management of the club for believing in him, he promised not to disappoint them and that he will make the state proud.
This is the third time Coach Bernard Ogbe would be at the helm of affairs in the technical department of Niger Tornadoes FC.
Coach Ogbe guided the club to win the prestigious Challenge Cup and also reach the quarterfinals of the WAFU Cup between 1999 and 2000. His second coming to the club was between 2001 and 2002 was not fruitful and he decided to throw in the towel.
Niger Tornadoes finished 6th in the 2017/2018 NPFL season which ended abruptly after prolonged division of the claim to the leadership of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) under the guidance of Coach Hamza Abdulazeez Abara who has been the acting Technical Adviser of the club since the exit of Coach Erasmus Onu.
