Fulani stakeholders forum in the country has been asked to work assiduously to factor and stem down farmers – herdsmen clashes that has become nightmares in the country.

Addressing the forum during a courtesy visit to his office recently, the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Information and Stategy, Alhaji Danjuma Sallau told the visiting members that the state and the nation need their services to foster peaceful coexistence among various ethnic groups in the country.

According to the commissioner, hate speech being fuelled by unscrupulous Nigerians was spelling doom to our corporate existence and must be resisted by peace-loving Nigerians who are committed to the course of building egalitarian society.

He noted with concern that Nigerians that lived together for decades allowed themselves to be set against each other for wanton destruction of our corporate existence on ethnic and religious lines.

The commissioner warned the youths to avoid been used as political vanguards and called on them to ensure that they register and acquired their PVCs for the forthcoming general elections.

Alhaji Danjuma Sallau informed the forum that the Niger State government has already created grazing colony for herdsmen at Kampanin Bobi in Mariga Local Government Area with modern facilities such as schools, hospitals, markets among others.

Earlier, the chairman of the forum, Mllam Ibrahim Bala Khaleed explained that the stakeholders’ forum was established in the state in 2006 to foster unity and to enhance corporate existence of Nigerians as well as promoting cultural heritage.

The chairman used the forum to call on youths in the state and the nation to embrace our cultural heritage and refrain from foreign culture and acculturation.

He solicited for the support of the ministry in publicizing their activities within its media outfits in the state stressing that the forum was determined to carry their sensitization campaign to the 25 LGAs in the state.
