Governor Abubakar Sani Bello

Tens and hundreds of Muslim and Christian faithfuls across Borgu Kingdom, Niger State, yesterday converged at the Jahi Ground of the Borgu Emir’s Palace in New Bussa and offered joint community prayers for the divine protection and guidance of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.
In an exclusive interview before the prayer session, HRH Alh (Dr.) Mohammed Sani Dantoro, Kitoro IV, Emir of Borgu, explained that, it was important for the people to always pray for their leaders at all levels.
In particular, Mai Borgu stressed the need to pray specially for President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, as leaders of the nation and our state, respectively.
This, the Emir said, is due to the unprecedented challenges facing both leaders in their bid to bring about the much-needed changes in the economic, social and political lives of Nigerians.
Mai Borgu, however, called on the people and leaders of the Kingdom and the nation at large to pray fervently for the success of government’s economic recovery and growth plan, combating endemic corruption, restoration of peace in the North East and the Middle Belt, successful conduct of the forth-coming 2019 general elections, and divine protection for the President and Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.
The prayer session was led by Alh. Mohammed Shehu, the Chief Imam of Borgu and General Evangelist, Prophet D. Adegoke, the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Borgu Branch.
In attendance were religious leaders from a broad spectrum of Muslim and Christian groups, accompanied by massive number of worshippers. A cross section of participants interviewed also commended the Emir of Borgu and the Borgu Emirate Council for organizing the joint prayer.
