Niger State Media Corporation Board has called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state to patronize the state owned media organizations.

The Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Yakubu Datti made the call when he led the board members on a courtesy call to the Director General of the state Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recently.

Alhaji Datti said the organizations were established to disseminate information to the public, particularly publicizing government activities, but that this task was almost becoming impossible to be carried out due to lack of fund.

He said if all the MDAs in the state will patronize the media outfits they will discharge their responsibility effectively and depend less on the government in terms of running cost.

The Board Chairman also made a special appeal to the state SDGs boss to provide a borehole and a toilet facility to Crystal FM station at Maitumbi.

In his response, the Director General of the state SDGs, Alhaji Baba Ara appealed to the media organizations in the state to help educate the public on the need to own up to government projects in their various communities by protecting them from vandalization.
