Niger Tornadoes Captain, Mustapha Aliko

Niger Tornadoes Captain, Mustapha Aliko has applauded the club’s chairman, Hon Adamu Aliyu for his motivational role which sparked them up to beat Elkanemi Warriors 1-0 in a hot duel on Match day 33 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in Lokoja.

Aliko said that the chairman told them that his visit to their camp was to encourage them and give them all the necessary support they required to beat the Desert Warriors and urged them not to see visit as putting them under undue pressure.

“Our chairman visit was timely, it was not just timely but encouraging. He paid us two match bonuses being owed and we have also received Elkanemi’s defeat match bonus, and also redeemed his pledge of five hundred thousand (N500,000) naira he promised us for beating them.

“As I speak to you, our salaries are being paid promptly we have been paid to date, the chairman has kept to his promises of seeing to our wellbeing since he came on board”, the skipper said.

According to him, the support of the management of the club will spurred them to finish the league on high note as they were determined to reciprocate the management’s effort.

“We won’t let the club down as we enter into the last stages of the league, we are going to double our efforts to see if we finish the league better than we did last year”, said the former Sunshine Stars goalkeeper.
