Tornadoes Goal hero Peter Momoh in White and Red

Relegation threatened Remo Stars made Niger Tornadoes FC sweat before earning a hard fought 1-0 win on matchday 27 decided at the Confluence Stadium Lokoja, yesterday.
 
Second half substitute, Peter Momoh who came in for Wilfred Angel Ammeh tapped into the back net from close following a beautiful build up assisted by another substitute Aliyu Dahiru in the 59th minute.
 
At the post match interview, Coach  Abubakar Bala admitted that it was a keenly contested encounter and already knew that the match will be technical as he knows Fatai Osho is technically inclined.
 
“I told my players to take the game serious and should not underate Remo Stars as the rear placed team in the league. I told them they have a good coach and he is going to make things difficult for us”, he said.
 
Coach Bala full of praise for the goalscorer said that the lad was full of great potential, adding all his players will be given the opportunity to excel.
 
According to the coach, he had to rely on his substitutes to win the match but admitted that it wasn’t part of his game plan.
 
“Sometimes the way you plan a match don’t turn out how u wanted it to go, I did not plan to win the match from the bench but with the way things were going we had to rely on the bench, so we need to thank God”, the for FC Lokoja gaffer admitted.
 
On the other hand Remo Stars coach, Fatai Osho said that he boys gave a good account of themselves but was not happy with the way they conceded the goal.
 
Osho said that the got punished for their mistakes.
 
According to him, they will continue to play until the last day of the league, as their struggle for the NPFL survival was still alive.
 
With the result Niger Tornadoes has moved to 8th position on the log haven played 27 matches and would be guest to Enyimba FC of Aba on match day 28 next weekend in Calabar.
 
Remo Stars rooted on the bottom of the league table with 27 points from 27 matches will host FC Ifeanyi Ubah on Sunday.
